Banana Smoothie

Banana smoothie is an extremely nutritious breakfast drink that comes in handy when you have 1-2 overripe bananas at home and want to make something quickly. The easiest way to do this is by making a smoothie, although there are also numerous popular banana dessert recipes that require ripe bananas, such as banana pancakes or baked bananas. All of these can be prepared very easily and can be varied in countless delicious ways.

Banana Smoothie Recipe


  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 6 dl cold milk
  • half a teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of honey or 1 packet of vanilla sugar

Instructions for Making Banana Smoothie:

  1. Peel the bananas, break them into smaller pieces, and put them in a blender along with the milk, lemon juice, and honey (or vanilla sugar).
  2. Blend thoroughly, then chill and serve in glasses.
  3. It can be spiced up with cinnamon.

This simple smoothie can be further enriched with chia seeds, other fruits (raspberries, melons, cantaloupes, strawberries, apricots, grapes, plums, apples, pears, oranges, etc.), or even vegetables (cucumber, avocado, beets, carrots) to create numerous delicious and healthy beverages. Banana smoothie is an energy bomb, as 100 g of smoothie (calculated with 1.5% milk) contains approximately 80 calories. When projected to one serving, which is about 2-2.5 dl, it is around 165 calories. The latter consists of nearly 40 g of carbohydrates, 3.4 g of protein, and 1.27 g of fat. For comparison, a medium-sized apple contains about 50 calories, while a medium-sized pear contains approximately 100 calories.

Therefore, banana smoothie contains a significant amount of calories and can serve as a complete meal with few additions. It is advisable to consume it after a weakened state or intense physical exertion, as it replenishes energy in the body. The beneficial effects of bananas on the body manifest in various ways, which is why it is worth consuming them regularly, but in moderation.
